Nothing Really Matters

"Art"

date: April 13, 2008

This was truly a piece of Art. The sketchy style was a little straining, but I got use to it about halfway through it. At first I thought the animation was choppy, but then I realised that it actually was meant to be stop-and-go like this, to be in sync with the beat. It was also sligthly creepy at times, for a song that is generally interpreted in a light-spirited manner, but it fit the text of the song really well. You did really well for a first, I hope you can build up on this potential.

Mario TimeLapse

"Not bad"

Your drawing was quite nice indeed, but thats about everything you got going there for you. I didn*t like your choice of music, but thats probably just personal taste. A little detail that could've improved this a bit would have been for the little Mario sprite at the bottom to do something else than just walking left to right and looking up. Commenting the progress of the picture perhaps...

*Hyperanimation! Ep. 1

"Randomness can be funny!"

date: March 27, 2008

And this was a good example for it. Overall it was really nicely done, but there are parts I didn't like as well. The worst is the first: Sound. As others before me have explained enough about this I won't go into into more detail and assume you got the message. Secondly: The Sun Dialogue. It started off nice, but you should've stopped after the global warming joke. The Matrix-Thing kinda dragged it out, and took the fast pace to somewhat off a halt, and the pace is one of the key features of this animation. It also seemed a little forced to me, but that may just be me. The third thing that bummed me a little is that we don't get to know Mister Oven Mitts to good, but since its the first episode I'll let that slip. He better get some exposure in the second one though ;). What I liked was the rubbery cartoony animation style, which, along with the music choice, creates the fast pace this carton lives from. Also the unspoken jokes were good, but one two more couldn't hurt either. All in all a great start but hasn't reached it's full potential yet. Keep working on it.

Trust me, Oven Mitts gets plenty more lines in Episode 2. Glad you liked it!
